A member of the BRE’s Housing and Energy team since 2008, Helen has worked on a number of policy reviews for DCLG including the review of the Disabled Facilities Grant Allocation and Means Test methodology. She has co-authored a number of BRE Trust commissioned reports including “Quantifying the health benefits of the Decent Homes programme” and “The cost-benefit to the NHS arising from preventative housing interventions”. These BRE reports seek to demonstrate that investment to remedy poor and/or unsafe housing not only improves people’s health and life experiences but actually saves public money in the long term.
Helen is currently the BRE team leader for the English Housing Survey annual reports published by DCLG. Prior to joining BRE in 2008, she had a career in social housing.
