Nigel Banks

Nigel leads Keepmoat’s Research, Development and Deployment team which is focused on identifying market opportunities and scalable products or  technologies which with support, enhancement or refining could be viable for large scale installation in the UK residential sector. Areas of focus currently include modular, construction digital construction, energy storage and the smart/connected home. Nigel developed Keepmoat’s national sustainability service offering which is helping to tackle fuel poverty and has delivered some of the country’s most sustainable housing developments. 

Nigel is a chartered engineer and led the engineering design on 100 of the first 120 zero carbon homes as well as 3 of the top 4 performing homes in the TSB Retrofit for the Future competition, which were then subsequently delivered by Keepmoat. Nigel is a strong advocate of the multiple benefits and transformational impacts of large scale retrofit programmes and the creation of sustainable communities.
