John Kolm-Murray

John has worked on fuel poverty in Glasgow and London and his most recent role is as Energy Strategy and Advice Manager at the London Borough of Islington, leading on fuel poverty, private sector energy efficiency, climate resilience and community energy.

In addition to developing policy and strategy John manages a number of programmes, including the successful Seasonal Health Interventions Network (SHINE). SHINE has operated in two London boroughs since 2010, assisting 16,000 households, and is currently being piloted across all of Greater London. His main interests are in the links between fuel poverty and health, protecting the most vulnerable against the impacts of climate change and addressing the particular challenges of energy efficient retrofit in inner cities. 

John is also National Chair of the Association of Local Energy Officers (ALEO) - a not-for-profit organisation representing and supporting local authority energy officers across England and Wales
